Recreation facility hours on statutory holidays
Ontario statutory holidays affect operating hours for all City recreation facilities. Most centres close entirely on statutory holidays. A few facilities offer half-day service on select holidays. Drop-in fitness, public swims and drop-in sports are suspended on all statutory holidays unless noted below.

What this means for bookings and programs
If you have a scheduled rental or program on a holiday, the booking will be adjusted automatically. You will receive an email from the Registration and booking FAQs with your revised time or a refund option.
Public arena bookings: Ice time and dry pad rentals are not available on statutory holidays except for pre-booked private leagues that specifically requested holiday slots. If your league does not have a holiday slot, the booking moves to the next available weekday.
Swim lessons and camps: Classes and camps run their regular schedule unless the facility is closed. If a facility is closed, the lesson is cancelled with no fee charged. Camps running during half-day periods will end at 1:00 p.m. or operate on a reduced daily schedule.
Outdoor facilities: Outdoor rinks, splash pads and pools follow the standard seasonal calendar. The Kingfisher Outdoor Pool closes for the season after Labour Day, so holiday hours do not apply. Outdoor rinks open in December when conditions allow and operate on half-day schedules during the December holidays.
Checking for unexpected closures
Extreme weather can force last-minute closures. Before you travel, check the Service Alerts page or call 311 inside city limits. If a facility closes early due to weather, staff will not stay on site after the posted closing time.
