Labour Day holiday schedule announced for September 7, 2026

City of Wrenford offices, waste collection, and transit services will be closed on Monday, September 7, 2026, for Labour Day. Residents should plan ahead for garbage, recycling, and transit trips before the long weekend.

City Hall and administrative offices

The Service Wrenford counter at 100 Mercer Street will be closed. The City Clerk's Office and all department offices will also be closed. Council and committee meetings scheduled for that week will proceed as planned unless otherwise posted on the Meetings & Agendas page.

Waste collection and transit

Garbage, Blue Box, and Green Bin collection will not take place on Monday, September 7. If your regular collection day falls on the holiday, your service will move to the next matching weekday. Wrenford Transit will not operate fixed routes on Labour Day. Service will resume its regular schedule on Tuesday, September 8.

Recreation, parks and trails

Most recreation facilities, including the Tamsin Valley Leisure Centre, Northgate Aquatic Centre, and Westbrook Community Arena, will operate on their regular weekend hours. The Downtown Transit Terminal and Wrenford Access specialized transit will also remain closed. Parks, trails, and off-leash areas stay open, but washroom facilities at park locations will be closed for the day.

Emergency services

911 continues to operate 24 hours a day. After-hours emergency utility requests (such as water main breaks or power line hazards) can be reported by calling 519-555-0111. For non-emergency by-law or service requests, use the online form on the Contact page.

Residents can check the full list of holiday hours and closures on the Check holiday service hours page. We wish you a safe and relaxing Labour Day weekend.
