Kingfisher Pool and Wildrye Splash Pad opening dates announced for 2026

The City of Wrenford is pleased to announce that the Kingfisher Outdoor Pool and the Wildrye Splash Pad will open for the 2026 season starting late June, weather permitting. Both facilities are located in their respective neighbourhoods and will run daily throughout the summer months.

Residents can expect the splash pad at Wildrye Park to operate from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. each day, while the Kingfisher Outdoor Pool will follow its standard summer schedule. All outdoor aquatic amenities close after Labour Day. Because these features rely on outdoor temperatures, opening dates may shift slightly depending on the weather. The City monitors conditions closely and posts updates on its service alerts page.

Operating these water features responsibly is a top priority for the City. To protect our local water supply, Kingfisher Pool uses advanced recirculation and filtration systems that cut water waste by up to forty per cent compared to older models. The Wildrye Splash Pad also uses low-flow nozzles and a closed-loop water system. We encourage families to bring their own refillable water bottles and to report any leaks or unusual water usage to the City immediately.

“We are thrilled to welcome swimmers and splashers back to these neighbourhood favourites,” said Caroline Dubé, Recreation Programs Coordinator. “Our operations team has completed all seasonal inspections and water-quality checks ahead of opening. We want everyone to stay cool and have a safe summer, so please check the facility hours before you head out and remember to supervise young children at all times.”
