The City of Wrenford is closing Kingfisher Outdoor Pool at 15 Kingfisher Court starting today, August 20, for essential maintenance and repairs. The closure will allow staff to address ongoing water loss and replace the pool's filtration system before the end of the season.
Although the pool opened on time in late June, recent inspections revealed that the underground piping and basin require more work than originally planned. The extended maintenance window ensures the facility can operate safely and efficiently in future years.
"We know how much our community relies on outdoor pools during the warm months," said Fiona Gallagher, General Manager of Community Services. "This repair work is necessary to keep the water clean and the facility safe. We appreciate your patience as we get these systems back up to standard."
If you are looking for aquatic activities during the closure, you can visit other city-run pools. Tamsin Valley Leisure Centre on Benchlands Drive offers a 25-metre lap pool and leisure pool, while Northgate Aquatic Centre on Northgate Boulevard features a 50-metre pool and dive tank. Both facilities are open with regular hours. Drop-in swim sessions and swim lessons continue at all locations unless otherwise posted.
As summer temperatures stay high, you can use outdoor pools to cool down. For tips on staying safe during heat waves and storms, visit the Extreme weather and storm preparedness guide. You can also sign up for emergency alerts to get instant notices about facility changes and weather warnings.
