Hollis Park off-leash area waste amenities upgraded for summer 2026

The City of Wrenford has finished upgrading waste amenities at the Hollis Park off-leash area ahead of the busy summer season. Residents visiting the off-leash space at 70 Hollis Park Drive can now use new, sturdy waste stations and free compostable bag dispensers.

The upgrade is part of the City's ongoing commitment to keeping parks clean and safe for people and pets. The old bins were frequently overflowing during peak hours, which attracted wildlife and created messes on the trails. The new stations feature secure lids, dog waste bag holders, and separate compartments for regular garbage and recycling. Staff also installed a small shelter to keep the compostable bags dry and easy to grab.

"Clean parks mean a better experience for everyone, from dog walkers to families enjoying a walk on the Tamsin River Trail," said Maya Chen-Watson, Parks Planner. "These new stations make it much easier for pet owners to clean up after their dogs and keep our green spaces in great shape."

Residents are reminded to use the new bins and to pick up after their pets at all times. The off-leash area is open from dawn to dusk, seven days a week. If you see a bin that is full or damaged, please report it through the City's online service request form or by calling 311. Remember to keep dogs on a six-metre leash when leaving the off-leash zone and to follow all trail etiquette rules.
