Hollis Park off-leash area fencing inspection complete

The City’s Parks & Trails team completed a full safety inspection of the perimeter fencing at the Hollis Park Off-Leash Area on April 16, 2026, confirming the fence is in good condition and ready for the spring season. The off-leash area is now fully open for you and your dog.

The inspection took place over the past week. City crews checked every section of the fence, from the main gate near 70 Hollis Park Drive to the corners along the park boundary. They also looked at the ground for loose debris and checked the latches and gates to make sure they close securely. Parks Planner Maya Chen-Watson noted that the fence held up well through the winter weather.

“We want every dog owner to feel confident that their pet is safe while they enjoy the trails and open space,” said Chen-Watson, Parks Planner. “This inspection is a standard part of our spring park opening routine, and we are glad to report that everything is ready for the season.”

With the fencing cleared, residents can now use the off-leash area as normal. Please remember to keep your dog under voice control at all times. The area is open from dawn to dusk, seven days a week. You must also pick up after your pet and dispose of waste in the bins provided near the entrance.

If you notice any issues with the fence, such as loose panels, broken latches, or overgrown vegetation blocking visibility, please report them through the City’s online reporting tool or by calling 311. Our Parks crews will respond to safety concerns within two business days.
