Harvest on Mercer 2026 street fair road closures confirmed

The City of Wrenford will close sections of Mercer Street in the downtown core from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 19, to host the annual Harvest on Mercer street fair. The event, which celebrates the region's autumn harvest with local vendors, food trucks, and live music, requires the street to be fully cordoned off for setup and teardown.

Closures will stretch from Water Street to Church Street. Tamsin Street will also be closed at its intersection with Mercer Street. Pedestrian access will be maintained through the closed zones, and Wrenford Transit route 1 will be detoured along Benchlands Drive during the event hours.

"We want to make sure our neighbours know about the closures well in advance so they can adjust their commutes and delivery schedules," said Samuel Adeyemi, General Manager of Infrastructure and Planning. "We have worked closely with the Downtown Wrenford BIA to map out the detours and ensure emergency vehicles can still access all buildings safely."

You should expect delays during the morning and afternoon peaks. You cannot park on the street along the affected blocks from Friday, September 18, at 10:00 p.m. until Sunday, September 20, at 12:00 p.m. If you live or work in the closure zone and need vehicle access, you must apply for a special access permit through the City Services portal.

For real-time updates on the closures and any changes to the transit detour, check the Service Alerts page. You can also view full street closure guidelines and plan your alternative routes on the Roads & Winter Maintenance and Street parking restrictions pages.
