Fall community cleanup volunteers needed at Riverside Flats Park

The City of Wrenford is inviting residents to help prepare Riverside Flats Park for the cooler months. A community cleanup day will take place on Saturday, September 20, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The event is organized by the Neighbourhoods Office in partnership with Ward 1. Volunteers of all ages are welcome to join City crews and local residents for a morning of litter collection, trail maintenance, and park beautification.

During the cleanup, teams will focus on gathering litter along the river trail, clearing debris from the event lawn, and checking the washroom area for any seasonal wear. Participants will also help mark the boundaries for the outdoor rink that will be installed in November. All tools, gloves, and grabbers are provided.

"It is always wonderful to see our neighbours come together to care for Riverside Flats Park," said Marcus Lindqvist, Ward 1 Councillor. "A clean park makes the whole neighbourhood feel more welcoming and safe for everyone."

To take part, you can register online or call 519-555-0100 to reserve a spot. The first 100 sign-ups will receive a free Wrenford Neighbourhood Cleanup Kit to use at home or with your block. A hot breakfast and coffee will be served at the park starting at 8:30 a.m. Please wear sturdy shoes and dress for the weather.

If you cannot join the cleanup but notice litter or maintenance issues in the park, you can report them through our online service request tool. For more information on neighbourhood events, volunteer opportunities, and seasonal park updates, visit Neighbourhoods.
