Spring cleanup is in full swing, and you have a lot of items to get rid of. Starting Monday, June 29, the drop-off depot at the East Wrenford Waste Management Facility will extend its weekday hours until 6:00 p.m. This change stays in effect through August 31.
The longer hours will help you sort through old yard waste, construction debris, and holiday items before the busy summer season. It also keeps the depot safe and organized for everyone. This adjustment is funded through the 2026 City Services budget, which focuses on keeping waste management costs predictable while improving service for residents. You can read more about how your taxes are spent on the Budget page.
When you visit the depot, please remember to bring your items in the correct bins. The facility accepts:
- Leaf and yard waste in paper bags
- Household hazardous waste (Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.)
- Bulky items and scrap metal
- Construction debris (sorted by wood, drywall, and metal)
Staff will be available on site to answer questions about what you can bring. If you are not sure whether an item is accepted, call 519-555-0128 before you go.
“We know spring cleanup creates a lot of extra waste,” said Robert Eng, City Manager. “Extending our depot hours gives residents a convenient way to dispose of items responsibly while keeping our operations running smoothly. It’s a small budget adjustment that makes a big difference for our neighbourhoods.”
This change supports the City’s Waste Management Strategy 2026–2030, which aims to divert 60% of residential waste from the landfill. Properly sorting your materials helps us reach that goal and lowers the cost of waste handling for everyone.

The depot is located at 3500 Concession 4 Road, Wrenford, ON N4Q 7A1. Regular hours remain Monday to Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., except for the extended weekday hours in June, July, and August.
