Council approves 2027 property tax rate bylaw

On April 16, 2026, Wrenford City Council passed By-law 2026-044, the 2027 Tax Levy By-law, setting the municipal property tax rate for the upcoming year. The decision was made during a council meeting at Wrenford City Hall.

The rate follows the final reconciliation of the 2027 Adopted Operating Budget. After adjusting for year-end financial data and confirmed provincial grants, the fully balanced budget results in a 3.95 percent increase in municipal property taxes. This figure is slightly below the four percent threshold council discussed during the budget debate in December.

“We know property taxes are a top concern for residents,” said Robert Eng, City Manager. “Passing this bylaw now gives you clear, confirmed figures so you can plan your payments for 2027 without surprises.”

The bylaw also sets the final property tax amounts for 2027. Residents will receive their final tax bills by mail in June. The final bill is due on the last business day of June and again on the last business day of September. You can pay in two instalments or set up pre-authorized monthly payments through Service Wrenford.

The 2027–2029 Operating Plan is also included for council’s review in principle, as required by the Municipal Act, 2001. For more information on how property taxes are calculated, payment options, or tax relief programs, visit the Property Tax page.
