Wrenford City Council approved the 2027–2036 Strategic Plan for Community Growth on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at City Hall. The new ten-year roadmap will guide how the city plans, funds, and delivers services as our population continues to grow.
Over the next decade, the plan focuses on four main areas: building strong neighbourhoods, improving transportation and trails, protecting the environment, and making sure everyone has access to housing and community services. It builds on the work of the current 2026–2030 Council Term Direction and sets clear targets for the years ahead. The strategy also includes new goals for climate adaptation, waste diversion, and digital services.
“This strategic plan gives us a clear path forward as we grow,” says Robert Eng, City Manager. “It helps us use our resources wisely, plan for the future, and keep Wrenford a great place for families, workers, and visitors.”
The plan was shaped by feedback from residents during public engagement sessions held earlier this year. Many residents asked for better transit connections, more green spaces, and stronger support for local businesses. The council and city staff used those comments to finalize the priorities.
Residents can read the full 2027–2036 Strategic Plan online or pick up a printed copy at the Service Wrenford counter in City Hall. City staff will report back to Council each year with a progress update so residents can see how the city is working toward its goals.
