What are the Council strategic priorities?
Every four years, Wrenford's elected officials set the priorities that will guide the city. These priorities shape how Council makes decisions and how the City Manager's office plans services for residents, businesses, and visitors.
For the 2026 to 2030 term, Mayor Danielle Okafor-Price and the six ward councillors adopted the 2026–2030 Council Term Direction. This plan replaces the previous strategic plan and focuses on where leadership will concentrate its effort over the next four years.
Our four focus areas for 2026 to 2030
The 2026–2030 term direction outlines four key priorities. Administration works with Council each year to track progress against these goals.
- Safety and well-being: Supporting the Wrenford Police Service, Tamsin Valley Public Health, and fire prevention programs to keep our neighbourhoods secure and healthy.
- Sustainable growth: Managing development along the Tamsin River and in new areas like Wildrye, while protecting our parks, trails, and the Benchlands.
- Strong community services: Keeping transit, recreation centres, and waste collection reliable and affordable for all residents.
- Transparent and efficient governance: Making sure every dollar is accounted for, responding quickly to resident requests through Service Wrenford, and keeping Council meetings open and accessible.
How the plan guides our work
Council reviews these priorities every year during the budget process. Each department submits an annual report showing how its work supports the term direction. You can track progress in the annual reports and budget documents posted on the City website.
If you want to share your thoughts on these priorities, you can attend a council meeting or join a budget engagement session. All meetings are livestreamed, and you can submit written comments using the public submission form.
