The City of Wrenford is launching the Wrenford Winter Home Insulation Grant today, February 6, 2026, to help homeowners reduce heating costs and improve home comfort during the coldest months. The programme is open to all owner-occupied properties within the city limits.
Homeowners can receive up to $4,500 per property to cover the cost of professional attic, wall, and basement insulation upgrades. The grant covers materials and labour for certified contractors. It also includes a small allowance for air-sealing work around windows and doors. The City wants to make sure your home stays warm and your energy bills stay predictable.
Applying is simple. Visit our Housing page to download the application form. You will need to attach two written quotes from licensed insulation contractors, a copy of your property tax bill, and proof of ownership. Fill out the form, sign it, and mail or drop it off to Room 208, Wrenford City Hall, 100 Mercer Street. You can also email scanned copies to [email protected]. Please submit your application by March 31, 2026. The City will review all submissions in the order they arrive and contact you within ten business days to confirm your approval.
“We know that keeping a home warm in February can be a heavy expense for families,” said City Manager Robert Eng. “This grant makes it easier for residents to invest in long-term savings and comfort right now, while we work on longer-term energy projects across the city.”
Once your application is approved, a City inspector will visit your home before work begins to confirm the scope. After your contractor finishes the work, submit your final invoice and receipt to the Housing team. The grant payment will be issued directly to your contractor within fifteen business days. For full details, eligibility rules, and a list of approved contractors, visit the Housing section or speak with a staff member at the Service Wrenford counter.
