The City of Wrenford is expanding the Silver Rides program for spring and summer 2026. Starting April 1, seniors 65 and older will enjoy a new route and Saturday service on the free door-to-door shuttle.
Silver Rides currently runs on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The new schedule adds Saturday service on the same hours, giving you more days to visit doctors' offices, grocery stores, and community centres. A new route, the Eastfield Connector, will also begin service. It will pick up riders in the Eastfield and Tamarack neighbourhoods and drop them off at the Downtown Transit Terminal and Corvid Creek Ravine Natural Area trailheads.
"We know that getting to appointments and running errands should never be a burden," says Mayor Danielle Okafor-Price. "This expansion ensures that more of our seniors can stay connected to their friends, family, and neighbourhoods as the weather warms up."
You can book a ride by calling 519-555-0114 at the Downtown Transit Terminal or visiting the Seniors transportation information page online. Please book at least one day in advance. The service runs on standard City holidays, but hours may change. Check the Wrenford Transit schedule for updates.
If you prefer riding the regular bus, you can still pay the reduced $2.50 fare on all Wrenford Transit routes. If you need help with a monthly pass or have questions about accessible seating, stop by the Service Wrenford counter at City Hall or call 311.
