Wrenford Transit is rolling out updated schedules for all 14 fixed routes on Monday, September 7, 2026. The changes are designed to match current ridership patterns, reduce wait times during peak hours, and support growth in newer neighbourhoods like Wildrye and Railside.
The most noticeable shift will be on Route 12, which travels between Wildrye and Benchlands. Because more residents are moving into the Wildrye area, buses on Route 12 will run every 15 minutes during morning and afternoon rush hours, down from every 20 minutes. This change gives commuters and students a more reliable ride to the downtown core, the downtown transit terminal, and the Benchlands area.
Route 5 service between Kingfisher and Larch Heights will also see adjustments. Crews have been widening bus bays and lengthening stops on Corvid Way to improve boarding times. The new schedule aligns with these construction upgrades to keep buses moving smoothly through the neighbourhood.
Frequent riders can expect slightly shorter wait times on Routes 1, 2, and 4 during weekday midday hours. Early morning service on Routes 3 and 8 will start five minutes earlier to help shift workers get to their jobs on time.
"Our team has been tracking ridership data and listening to feedback from residents for months," says Daniel Osei, Transit Manager. "These adjustments make sure we are sending buses where people actually need them, right when they need them. We want every ride to be faster and more predictable."
The new fall schedule will also account for major community events. During the Harvest on Mercer festival in September and the Benchlands Folk Festival in August, Transit will run extra shuttles to keep traffic moving. Special schedules will be posted on the service alerts page ahead of each event.
Wrenford Access riders will see minor timing tweaks to coordinate better with the fixed-route changes. If your regular bus time changes, you may need to update your Wrenford Access bookings to avoid long waits.
