Accessible transit service updates for Northgate Aquatic Centre access

Wrenford Transit is rolling out targeted updates to Wrenford Access service to make visiting the Northgate Aquatic Centre easier and more reliable. These changes take effect immediately and are designed to reduce wait times and improve pick-up safety during busy swim and fitness sessions.

Transit crews and digital booking systems now identify a dedicated virtual stop located just outside the main entrance at 910 Northgate Boulevard. Riders can select "Northgate Aquatic Centre (Virtual Stop A1)" when planning a trip through the Wrenford Transit app or by calling 311. Our specialized transit drivers use this location to ensure a safe and direct drop-off right in front of the aquatic centre doors, away from the busy bus lane on Northgate Boulevard.

Alongside the new virtual stop, Wrenford Access has adjusted its arrival window for facility drop-offs. Riders booked for the aquatic centre will now receive a ten-minute pick-up window instead of the standard fifteen minutes. This shorter window helps keep traffic moving during the morning and afternoon rush hours while still giving riders enough time to get inside. If you need extra time to transfer from a wheelchair or bring in gear, simply add a note to your booking or call your driver when you see them approaching.

"We know that getting to the pool and the fitness centre should be stress-free," says Daniel Osei, Transit Manager. "By fine-tuning our virtual stop locations and adjusting arrival windows for high-demand facilities, we can get you there faster and keep our routes running on time for everyone."

To use the updated service, open the Wrenford Transit app, start a new trip, and search for "Northgate Aquatic Centre". You can also call 311 or visit the Service Wrenford counter at Wrenford City Hall if you need help setting up your account or adjusting your regular booking.
