Wrenford water quality report for 2024 now available online

The City of Wrenford is pleased to share the 2024 Water Quality Report. You can read the full report online today. It covers every step of your drinking water journey, from the Tamsin River to the tap.

This annual report shows the results of daily and weekly testing at the Tamsin River Water Treatment Plant and throughout our distribution system. It also includes seasonal tests for the Tamsin River and Corvid Creek. The 2024 results confirm that Wrenford's tap water meets or exceeds all standards set by the Province of Ontario. Your water is safe, clean, and reliable.

What is in the report?

  • Treatment plant performance: Details on how the plant filters and treats water to remove sediment, bacteria, and nutrients.
  • Distribution system: Regular checks of water pressure, chlorine levels, and temperature at sites across the city.
  • Source water: Seasonal monitoring of the Tamsin River and local creeks to protect the water we draw for treatment.

Sometimes, residents notice a temporary taste or odour in their tap water. This is usually harmless. It can happen when water sits in your pipes over a long weekend, or when the city flushes water mains in the spring. If you notice a change, simply run the cold tap for five to ten minutes until the water is clear. You can also use a simple carbon filter or keep a pitcher of water in the fridge. If the taste or odour does not go away, or if the water looks cloudy or discoloured, please contact us so we can look into it.

"We take water quality seriously every single day," says Patrick Nguyen, Water Operations Manager. "The 2024 report shows that our testing programs, treatment upgrades, and source water protection efforts are working. We are committed to keeping Wrenford's water safe and clear for all residents, businesses, and visitors."
