Wrenford Ice Days winter festival announced for January 2026

WRENFORD, ON — September 15, 2025 — The City of Wrenford is pleased to announce that the annual Wrenford Ice Days winter festival will take place at Riverside Flats Park this January 2026. Mayor Danielle Okafor-Price, alongside the Water & Wastewater and Recreation teams, invites residents to celebrate the season with free outdoor skating, live entertainment, and family-friendly activities along the Tamsin River Trail.

The festival marks the official start of Wrenford’s winter calendar. Visitors can enjoy the outdoor rink near the Centennial Gardens, grab hot beverages from local vendors, and watch ice carving demonstrations. Helmets are strongly recommended for all skaters, and families are encouraged to dress in warm, layered clothing. The event is free and open to the public.

As the ice festival approaches, the City’s Water & Wastewater department reminds residents that winter is a critical time for protecting household plumbing. While outdoor watering is no longer needed, frozen service lines can cause serious damage. Homeowners should check their meter boxes for insulation, know how to use their water service shut-off key, and report any frozen pipes to 519-555-0111. You can find detailed winterization steps at protecting water lines and meters from freezing.

"Ice Days is a cherished tradition that brings our community together on the ice," said City Manager Robert Eng. "We want everyone to enjoy the cold safely while also remembering simple steps to keep their household water running smoothly through the winter."
