Wrenford Ice Days registration opens for January 2026 events

Registration for the City of Wrenford's winter skating programs opens today, November 25, 2025. Residents can sign up for youth hockey clinics, adult skating, and family skate nights through the Recreation & Culture portal or at the Service Wrenford counter in City Hall.

The highlight of the season is the Wrenford Ice Days festival, taking place during Family Day weekend in February at Riverside Flats Park. The festival features a large outdoor rink, live music, and warming huts. Families can register for the festival skate pass online. The pass includes access to all ice sessions, a hot cocoa voucher, and a discount at nearby downtown vendors. The festival is free for children under five. "We are excited to bring the community back to the ice this winter," said Fiona Gallagher, General Manager of Community Services. "Wrenford Ice Days has been a family tradition for years, and we want to make sure every resident has a safe and fun place to skate."

The City's Roads & Winter Maintenance team works closely with Parks staff to ensure the ice surface stays safe and clear. Crews will monitor weather forecasts and adjust the flooding schedule based on temperatures. When the rink is open, the City will enforce snow route parking bans on surrounding streets to keep plows clear for emergency vehicles and residents. You can read the full snow clearing and sidewalk plowing schedule on the Roads & Winter Maintenance page. To keep the rink safe for everyone, please supervise children at all times, wear helmets, and keep pets, strollers, and food containers off the ice. If ice conditions become unsafe due to warming temperatures, the rink may close temporarily.

Visit the Recreation & Culture programs page to browse the full schedule, view fees, and complete your registration. Questions about registration can be directed to the Recreation Programs Coordinator.
