The City of Wrenford is scheduling a brief, two-day closure at the Wildrye Splash Pad for a mandatory equipment inspection. The splash pad will be closed on Thursday, August 7, and Friday, August 8, 2025. It will reopen to the public on Saturday, August 9, at 10:00 a.m.
This short pause allows City staff to thoroughly test the water filtration system, check all safety nozzles, and verify the drainage connections. These inspections are part of our regular summer maintenance schedule to keep outdoor play areas safe and clean. All other City parks, splash pads, and outdoor pools will remain open during their normal hours.
"While we know everyone is eager to enjoy the splash pad all summer long, making sure the water quality and drainage systems are working perfectly is our top priority," says Maya Chen-Watson, Parks Planner. "A quick two-day check keeps the splash pad safe and running smoothly for families."
If you had plans to visit Wildrye Park this weekend, you can easily find other outdoor splash pads and playgrounds nearby. Check our Find playgrounds and splash pads page for locations and hours. You can also review the operating schedule for all City amenities on our Facility information and hours page.
For questions about seasonal closures or facility maintenance, call 311 inside the city or 519-555-0100 from outside. Learn more about how we maintain City parks and trails on the Facilities page.
We appreciate your patience as we complete this quick inspection and keep our outdoor spaces ready for you.
