On May 27, 2025, City Council officially adopted the updated ward boundaries that will be used for the upcoming municipal election on October 26, 2026. The changes ensure that each of the six wards remains fairly balanced as Wrenford continues to grow.
The revised map adjusts lines in several neighbourhoods, including Wildrye, Copper Ridge, and Northgate, where new housing developments have increased the local population. City planners reviewed census data and growth patterns over the past five years to make sure every resident has roughly the same number of neighbours represented by their councillor. “We want every resident to have a fair voice in City Council, and these changes make sure that promise holds true as our city grows,” said Mayor Danielle Okafor-Price. “Having balanced wards means your local representative can focus on the specific needs of your street, your park, and your community.”
The new boundaries will take effect immediately for the 2026 election cycle. If you are registered to vote, you will receive your updated voting location and polling place information in the mail this fall. Residents who live on a boundary line should check the official map or call the Elections Office at 519-555-0100 to confirm their ward.
City Council also reviewed the ward newsletter program during the same meeting to keep residents informed about local projects and council decisions. Starting this summer, each councillor’s office will send out a monthly email update about road work, park upgrades, and community events in your area.
