Transit fare assistance pass renewal deadline extended to March 31

The City of Wrenford is giving eligible transit riders more time to renew their Low-Income Transit Pass. The renewal deadline has been moved to March 31, 2025, ensuring no one loses their reduced fare access when the new monthly billing cycle begins on April 1.

The pass provides eligible riders with a monthly transit pass for just $35.00, saving more than 60 per cent off the regular adult fare of $95.00. So far, only about 30 per cent of current passholders have submitted their renewal applications. If the application is not renewed by the deadline, more than 800 riders could see their access lapse and be required to pay full fare starting in April.

"We want to make sure that transit remains affordable and reliable for everyone who needs it," says City Manager Robert Eng. "Extending the deadline gives people a bit more breathing room to finish their paperwork without missing out on their reduced fare."

Renewing is simple. The online application takes about ten minutes and you can complete it from any device. You can also drop off a completed form at the Service Wrenford counter, located inside Wrenford City Hall at 100 Mercer Street, Wrenford, ON N4Q 1A1. The front desk staff are available Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to answer your questions or help with the form.
