Transit detours reroute bus services near East Wrenford waste facility

Wrenford Transit will temporarily reroute several bus services starting Monday, June 23, 2025 to allow crews to complete upgrades at the East Wrenford Waste Management Facility on Concession 4 Road. The detours will affect Routes 10, 12, and 13 for approximately eight weeks.

Construction work on the roadway will block access for large transit vehicles. Buses will use a temporary path along Orchard Park Road and Wrenford Line to bypass the facility entrance. Bus stops at the facility drop-off zone and the Concession 4 Road pull-out will be closed. Passengers who normally board or exit at these locations will be redirected to temporary stops on Orchard Park Road, just north of the facility entrance. A shuttle bus will run between the temporary stops and the facility entrance for waste depot customers during business hours.

"We know changes to the route can be a bit of a hassle, but these upgrades are necessary to keep our waste management operations running smoothly for years to come," said Daniel Osei, Transit Manager. "We have added extra buses to the detoured routes to make sure riders still get reliable service while the work is underway."
