Tamsin River Run returns for the 2025 annual event

We are excited to bring back the Tamsin River Run for the 2025 annual event, taking place this May along the Tamsin River Trail in the heart of the city. The event will welcome runners, walkers, and wheelchair users of all ages and abilities to enjoy the riverside paths and celebrate community health.

The route follows the flat, paved sections of the trail system, starting and finishing at Riverside Flats Park. Participants can choose from a 5-kilometre fun run or a 10-kilometre distance. Water and first aid stations will be staffed every two kilometres, and certified first responders will patrol the course to keep everyone safe. The trail surface is fully accessible, making it a great option for families and residents using mobility aids.

Registration opens on March 1 through the Recreation Portal. Early registration closes in mid-April, with a limited number of day-of-race registrations available. All participants must sign a standard waiver online before the start line. Volunteers are always needed to help hand out water, direct traffic, and cheer on runners. If you would like to help, please sign up through the volunteer page.

"Events like the Tamsin River Run bring our neighbourhoods together and encourage active living for everyone," said Fiona Gallagher, General Manager of Community Services. "We want to make sure the route is safe, the water stations are well-stocked, and the atmosphere is friendly for first-time runners and seasoned athletes alike."
