Student transit pass prices adjusted for the 2025 academic year
Starting September 1, 2025, the monthly student transit pass will increase to $68.00. The adjustment helps the City cover rising operating costs and maintain reliable bus service for K-12 students.
The student transit pass provides unlimited rides for students attending the Wrenford District School Board or the Wrenford Catholic District School Board. This change is the first adjustment in three years and is necessary to keep up with the increasing costs of fuel, vehicle maintenance, insurance, and staffing. Transit fares make up a large portion of our operating budget, and a modest increase allows us to continue running all routes on schedule while supporting ongoing service improvements.
"Transit fares help us keep our buses running on time and maintain our service across the city. This small adjustment ensures we can continue to provide affordable, reliable transit for students as they travel to and from school," said Daniel Osei, Transit Manager.
If your child is heading back to school this fall, you can purchase the updated pass before the new term begins. You can buy passes in person at the Downtown Transit Terminal or Wrenford City Hall, or through the Wrenford Transit app. The app also lets you load your pass directly to your phone so you do not need to carry a physical card.
We know that family budgets are tight. If your student moves out of the service area or graduates mid-month, you may be eligible for a prorated refund for the unused weeks. Simply contact the Transit Customer Service team at 311 or visit the Downtown Transit Terminal to start the process.
