As temperatures fluctuate across Southwestern Ontario, the freeze-thaw cycle is taking a toll on Wrenford's road network. City crews are preparing for the upcoming repair season and want residents to help by reporting cracks, potholes, and damaged curbs before they worsen.
Submitting a report generates a work order for the Roads & Winter Maintenance team. These reports help crews prioritize repairs and keep drivers safe. When temperatures swing above and below freezing, water gets into the pavement and expands. Catching damage early prevents larger cracks and saves repair costs.
"Every report you send helps us plan our route and get crews out there faster," says James Whitford, Roads Superintendent. "We review all submissions daily and schedule repairs based on severity and location. Urgent hazards are fixed right away, while larger patching and crack sealing work happens during the annual Spring Road Repair Program."
Residents can report road issues through our online service request form, by calling 519-555-0100, or by emailing [email protected]. Please include your street name and a description or photo if possible. The team also tracks road conditions through regular patrols and work from City vehicles.
While the overnight on-street parking ban remains in effect until March 31 to allow snow clearing, the Roads team is already mapping out the best routes for spring patching. Drivers should expect temporary lane closures and detours during active repair days.
