The City of Wrenford has released its June 2025 Rental Housing Inventory Report, showing a steady increase in available rental units across the city. The quarterly update tracks both market and non-market rentals, giving residents and developers a clear picture of where housing is growing and where we still need more homes.
According to the report, the city added 142 new rental units in the first three months of 2025. Most of the growth happened in the Northgate and Benchlands neighbourhoods, where new multi-unit buildings came online. The report also highlights a rise in purpose-built rentals that are not tied to government subsidies, which helps keep the market balanced.
"Seeing rental supply grow is a positive step for our community," says Robert Eng, City Manager. "It means more choices for families and workers who call Wrenford home, and it shows our planning and zoning changes are working. We will keep tracking the numbers to make sure we are building the right mix of homes for everyone."
The data supports the goals set out in the Wrenford Housing Strategy 2025–2030. The strategy aims to increase housing options, protect existing rentals, and address housing insecurity through a mix of market and non-market solutions. The city will use the June report to adjust its development plans and target areas where waiting lists are longest.
If you are looking for a place to rent, you can browse current listings on the rental housing inventory page. Developers and non-profit groups interested in building new rentals should review the application guidelines for the affordable housing incentive program.
