The City of Wrenford Parks & Trails department is pleased to announce that the Northgate Aquatic Centre will open its doors for the summer season on Saturday, May 24, 2025. Located at 910 Northgate Boulevard, the centre has been preparing for the busy months ahead with equipment checks and water quality testing.
Once the gates open, you can enjoy the 50-metre pool, the dive tank, and the waterslide. Public swim, aquafit classes, and all Swimming lessons will begin on the opening day. The facility will operate on its summer schedule: Monday to Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., and weekends from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
"The Northgate Aquatic Centre is a cornerstone of our community," said Fiona Gallagher, General Manager of Community Services. "We are thrilled to welcome swimmers of all ages back to the water. Whether you are here to train, take your first lesson, or just cool off on a hot day, we have a lane or a class for you."
If you have not yet signed up for your favourite summer activity, registration for programs and summer day camps opened on Monday, March 3. You can register online or call the Downtown Transit Terminal at 519-555-0114 for assistance. Please note that drop-in swim tickets and class fees are due at the time of registration.
While the main building is ready, crews will continue to tidy the exterior plaza and the waterslide deck throughout May. You may notice some temporary fencing around the slide entrance, but it will be fully open by the time you arrive for your first swim.
