The City of Wrenford Parks, Recreation & Culture department is pleased to announce that the newly rebuilt Northgate Aquatic Centre officially reopened today, December 29, 2025, for the 2025 winter season. Located at 910 Northgate Boulevard in the Northgate neighbourhood, the facility is ready to welcome swimmers, families, and community groups.
After a complete reconstruction finished in 2024, the centre now features a modern 50-metre lap pool, a dive tank, and a new waterslide. The rebuild replaced the older structure that served the community for decades, bringing updated safety standards and improved accessibility throughout the natatorium and locker rooms.
“We are thrilled to welcome Wrenford back to the water,” said Robert Eng, City Manager. “This rebuild was a major investment in our community’s health and wellness, and it is wonderful to see the facility fully operational and ready for the winter season.”
Regular programming is now in full swing. Public swim sessions run Monday to Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., with weekend hours from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The centre also hosts aquafit classes, swim lessons, and rental space for community groups. Families are encouraged to review the full schedule online and register for winter programmes through the Programs page.
