The Northgate Aquatic Centre at 910 Northgate Boulevard opens its doors for the summer season this week, welcoming families back for a full schedule of swim lessons, waterslide fun, and lap swimming. The centre's summer operations are supported by the current annual budget, which allocates funding for facility maintenance, staffing, and community programming. Residents can see exactly how these tax dollars are planned and tracked through the understand the budget process page.
The 50-metre pool and waterslide will be fully operational from late June through Labour Day. New for this season is an expanded swim lessons program, including beginner and intermediate classes for children, as well as adult introductory sessions. Registration opens on Monday, June 9, and can be completed online, by phone at 519-555-0121, or in person at the Northgate Aquatic Centre front desk.
Families are encouraged to check the summer program guide and register early to secure a spot in popular time slots. All participants should arrive ten minutes before their scheduled class to check in and change. The City also offers fee assistance for eligible residents who need financial support to access these programmes.
"Investing in our aquatic centres ensures that Wrenford families have access to safe, high-quality programming during the summer months," said Fiona Gallagher, General Manager of Community Services. "The expanded lesson schedule reflects feedback from residents who wanted more options for all ages."
