The City of Wrenford is pleased to announce that the Kingfisher Outdoor Pool and Wildrye Splash Pad will open for the 2025 summer season on Saturday, June 21, weather permitting. Both water amenities are now ready for you as the city prepares for warmer temperatures and increased outdoor recreation.
The Kingfisher Outdoor Pool, located at 15 Kingfisher Court, will operate daily from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. from late June to Labour Day. The facility features a seasonal outdoor pool and a splash pad area for younger children. The Wildrye Splash Pad, located at Wildrye Park (90 Wildrye Drive), will also open on June 21 with the same daily operating hours. You are encouraged to bring your own towels, swimwear, and water shoes for the spray features.
"Getting our water amenities open safely and on time is a key part of our summer recreation plan," says Fiona Gallagher, General Manager of Community Services. "We have completed the necessary water quality checks and equipment inspections to ensure these spaces are ready for families across Wrenford." Staff will be on-site daily to monitor safety, manage capacity, and keep the areas clean.
Please note that the splash pads and pool operate on a first-come, first-served basis, and there are no lifeguards on duty at the splash pad. If you want to swim with supervision, the Tamsin Valley Leisure Centre and Northgate Aquatic Centre offer scheduled public swims and lap lanes. Check the Facility information and hours page for the complete summer schedule and any adjustments due to weather or maintenance.
