WRENFOR, ON — June 14, 2025 — The City of Wrenford is pleased to announce that the Kingfisher Outdoor Pool at 15 Kingfisher Court is reopening for the 2025 season with a newly installed accessible entry system. The upgrade, completed ahead of the late June opening, ensures that all visitors can enjoy the seasonal outdoor pool and splash pad safely and comfortably.
The enhanced entry system features a durable, motorized pool lift and a gently sloped ramp leading directly into the water. These changes are part of the City's ongoing work under the Wrenford Accessibility Plan to remove barriers in public recreation spaces. The project also includes new handrails along the pool deck and updated signage in large print and braille at the main entrance.
"Making our outdoor recreation facilities welcoming for everyone is a top priority for our community," says Fiona Gallagher, General Manager of Community Services. "This investment at Kingfisher Outdoor Pool means families and visitors can focus on what matters most: enjoying the summer together, regardless of mobility needs."
Residents with specific accommodation requests can contact Wrenford 311 or email [email protected] at least two business days before their visit. The City's Inclusion Support Service is available to assign a Leisure Companion for program participation. You can also book a sensory backpack or request an attendant admission at the front desk on the day of your visit.
The Kingfisher Outdoor Pool operates from late June to Labour Day. For full operating hours, program details, and information on other accessible recreation options across the city, visit the Kingfisher Outdoor Pool page or review our accessibility features at recreation facilities guide.
