WRENFORD, ON — June 15, 2025 — The parking lot at Kingfisher Outdoor Pool is open again after a summer resurfacing project. Crews finished paving the lot and repainting the lines this week. The seasonal outdoor pool and splash pad are scheduled to open in late June.
Work began in early June to remove old asphalt and lay a fresh base. The project included adding new drainage, repairing the curb edges, and painting fresh lines for cars and a bus drop-off zone near the main entrance at 15 Kingfisher Court. The lot can now hold about 60 vehicles.
"A smooth, well-marked parking lot makes a big difference for families coming to the pool with chairs, umbrellas, and kids," said Fiona Gallagher, general manager of community services. "We are glad the work is done and the lot is ready for the summer season."
Visitors should plan their trip early in the day. The lot fills up quickly on hot weekends. If the main lot is full, you can park on nearby residential streets, but you must follow the posted signs and the Parking rules. You may need a Parking permits sticker if you live in the Kingfisher ward. Remember that the outdoor pool season runs from late June to Labour Day, with daily hours posted on the Kingfisher Outdoor Pool page.
