Kingfisher Outdoor Pool opening set for May 24

The City of Wrenford announces that the Kingfisher Outdoor Pool at 15 Kingfisher Court will open for the 2025 season on Saturday, May 24. The adjacent splash pad will open the same day. Both water amenities are weather dependent, and staff may shift the opening weekend if temperatures remain cool or if heavy rain is forecast.

Once the water is up to temperature, the pool will host daily drop-in swims, morning sessions for preschoolers, and family swim times in the afternoons. The splash pad operates from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. daily at no charge. Swimming lessons for all ages will also launch that week. Registration for lessons opens the first Monday of March, but unbooked lanes remain open for drop-in visitors throughout the season.

"We are excited to welcome residents back to the water early this year," said Fiona Gallagher, General Manager of Community Services. "The Kingfisher facility offers a safe, supervised space for families to stay active and enjoy the warmer weather together."

Visitors should review the weekly timetable and any schedule changes on the Programs page. Standard pool rules apply, including mandatory showering before entry and lifeguard supervision during all operating hours. Families with young children must ensure children under eight are accompanied by an adult in the water.

Any future capital upgrades or site expansions for the Kingfisher facility will be reviewed through the Development Applications process. Interested residents can track project status and public comment periods via the Planning applications registry. For today's operating hours, water quality updates, or to book the facility for a private event, call 519-555-0125 or contact the Wrenford 311 service line.

The outdoor pool season runs through Labour Day weekend, subject to weather and water safety conditions. Follow the City's news feed for updates on extended hours, themed swim nights, or maintenance closures.
