The City of Wrenford is excited to announce that Harvest on Mercer returns to downtown this September. The annual street festival will take place on Saturday, September 20, 2025, along Mercer Street between Water Street and Tamsin Street. The event runs from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and features local food vendors, live music, and family-friendly activities.
As the City wraps up its summer programming, the Roads & Winter Maintenance team is already preparing for the cold season. The festival will require temporary road closures and parking restrictions to keep attendees safe. Crews will restore the street to normal traffic patterns by Sunday morning, September 21. Once the festival wraps up, the Roads & Winter Maintenance department will begin its regular overnight snow clearing schedule.
If you live or work near the festival, plan your trip ahead of time. Expect detours and reduced parking availability on Saturday morning. Please pay close attention to all temporary signage and follow the directions of event staff and traffic volunteers. If you need to move your vehicle, use a nearby parking garage or street that is not affected by the closures. After the event, check Roads & Winter Maintenance for updates on street conditions and seasonal maintenance updates.
The return of Harvest on Mercer also marks the start of the City's transition into winter operations. The Roads & Winter Maintenance team is currently reviewing the winter service route map and will publish the final version in October. The new map will show updated snow clearing priorities and any changes to residential street plowing times. The City also reminds residents that the overnight on-street parking ban will take effect on December 1, 2025. During the ban, from 2:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m., all vehicles must be removed from main roads and snow routes to allow snowplows to work safely.
“From the festival lights to the first snowfall, our city stays active through every season,” said James Whitford, Roads Superintendent. “We are working closely with event organizers to ensure Mercer Street is fully cleared and safe for pedestrians and vehicles as we transition into the winter months.”
You can help keep the downtown area clean. Please use the waste bins provided at the event or take your recycling and garbage home with you. Extra garbage and recycling carts will be placed at key corners for easy access. For a full list of road closures and detour maps, visit the City's event calendar.
