East Wrenford Waste Management Facility expansion update

Construction crews have started work on the East Wrenford Waste Management Facility expansion. The project, located at 3500 Concession 4 Road, will add new drop-off space for residents and improve traffic flow on the road leading to the site.

The expansion will double the size of the leaf and yard waste area and create a wider turning lane for collection trucks. This work is part of the city's long-term plan to keep waste services running smoothly as Wrenford grows. Roads & Winter Maintenance crews are working on the new asphalt lanes and drainage upgrades. You may see temporary lane closures on Concession 4 Road between 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. from Monday to Friday through the end of October.

The facility will stay open during construction. If you are dropping off household hazardous waste, electronics, or construction materials, please follow the signs for the temporary staging area. Plan an extra ten minutes for your trip, and drive carefully through the work zone. You can sign up for construction alerts on the Roads & Winter Maintenance page.

"We know construction can be frustrating, but these upgrades are necessary to keep our waste services efficient for the next twenty years," said Ben Achterberg, Waste Programs Supervisor. "Thank you for your patience as we build a better facility for everyone."
