The East Wrenford Waste Management Facility is reopening its drop-off depot and landfill for regular winter hours on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, following a seasonal closure for snow and ice removal. The facility is located at 3500 Concession 4 Road and is open Monday to Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The facility closed earlier this month to allow the Roads & Winter Maintenance team to clear the access road and parking lot of accumulated snow. Crews have finished plowing the site and applying salt to ensure safe vehicle and foot traffic for residents dropping off household waste, recycling, and green bin organics. We also cleared the sidewalk paths leading to the deposit areas.
Residents should check the garbage-and-recycling-collection-schedule for their neighbourhood's pickup dates. During the winter months, garbage and recycling are collected biweekly and weekly, respectively, while green bin organics are collected every week. If you need to drop off items at the depot before your curbside pickup day, please follow the posted speed limits in the facility yard and keep your waste secured in your vehicle. Remember that the overnight on-street parking ban is still in effect until March 31, so plan your route carefully.
"We know that keeping the facility accessible is essential for our residents' daily routines," says Ben Achterberg, Waste Programs Supervisor. "Our crews worked through the recent cold snap to get the driveway and loading areas clear and safe for everyone."
