East Wrenford Waste Facility announces spring maintenance closure

The [[East Wrenford Waste Management Facility|East Wrenford Waste Management Facility]] will close for five days in early March so crews can perform annual spring maintenance on heavy equipment and repair site drainage. The closure runs from Monday, March 3 to Friday, March 7, 2025.

During the closure, the drop-off depot and household hazardous waste drop-off will be unavailable. Your regular curbside garbage, Blue Box, and Green Bin collection will continue as scheduled. If your collection day falls during the closure, please leave your carts at the curb. Crews will empty them on their route and return the carts to your property line. You do not need to pull your carts in early.

Residents who normally visit the facility to drop off yard waste, construction debris, or mattresses will need to wait until the site reopens at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 8. Please keep these materials in your garage or shed until then. The household hazardous waste depot is only open on Saturdays from May to October, so this spring closure does not affect those seasonal days. If you have old paint, solvents, or batteries, they can wait until May.

"We run this maintenance every year so our trucks and compactors stay in top shape for the busy spring and summer season," says Ben Achterberg, Waste Programs Supervisor. "It helps us avoid unexpected breakdowns and keeps our staff safe while they work."
