Starting Monday, December 1, 2025, Wrenford Transit will extend its on-demand Wrenford Flex service to cover the Westbrook Community Arena area. This expansion brings the easy-to-book, virtual-stop service closer to residents in the Westbrook and Larch Heights neighbourhoods who use the arena for public skating, youth hockey, and community events.
Wrenford Flex is a flexible transit option that operates Monday to Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., with late-night service on Routes 3 and 8 until midnight. Instead of fixed stops, you can request a pickup at a pre-approved virtual location near your home or destination. Bookings open up to fourteen days in advance, and you should plan to be ready at your pickup point within a ten-minute window.
"We heard from many Westbrook families that getting to the arena was a bit of a hassle without a car," said Daniel Osei, Transit Manager. "Adding this area to the Wrenford Flex zone means more people can easily access rinks, rec centres, and other key destinations on the west side of the city without needing a vehicle."
Residents in the new zone can request a trip using the Wrenford Transit app or by calling 311. The service operates on a first-come, first-served basis and costs the same as a regular single ride or monthly pass. All vehicles are equipped with wheelchair lifts and securement systems, ensuring accessible travel for everyone.
