On-demand service extends hours for Tamsin River Run event

Wrenford Transit is extending Wrenford Flex operating hours for the Tamsin River Run event this May. The on-demand service will run on an extended schedule to help runners, volunteers, and spectators reach the start line and finish area without dealing with downtown traffic or parking.

The Tamsin River Run is a popular community event that draws thousands of participants along the Tamsin River Trail. Road closures and limited parking near the course mean that transit is the best way to get around on race day. Wrenford Flex will operate from 5:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. on the day of the race, with extra vehicles added during peak morning and evening hours. Riders can book trips through the Wrenford Transit app or by calling the Downtown Transit Terminal.

"We want everyone who is running, volunteering, or cheering to arrive relaxed and on time," says Daniel Osei, Transit Manager. "By extending our on-demand service, we are giving people a reliable way to navigate the event zone. We encourage everyone to leave their cars at home and use transit whenever possible."

Here is what you need to know before the race:

  • Book your trip at least 30 minutes before you need to leave. Wrenford Flex vehicles usually arrive within 10 minutes.
  • If you are heading to the start line, ask for a drop-off at the Tamsin River Trail trailhead near Riverside Flats Park.
  • If you are finishing the race, you can request a pickup at the finish area on Water Street. Expect a short wait as several riders may book at the same time.
  • Standard fares apply. Youth and senior passes are valid on this extended schedule.
