The City of Wrenford is now accepting volunteer applications for Harvest on Mercer, our annual celebration taking place this September on Mercer Street downtown. Applications are open now for event setup, guest services, waste sorting, and stage support roles.
Harvest on Mercer brings the community together with live folk music, local food vendors, and family-friendly activities. Volunteers play a key part in keeping the event running smoothly. You do not need prior event experience to join the team. We will provide a brief orientation, a shift schedule, and all necessary supplies. Shifts run from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on event days, and you can choose the shifts that work best with your schedule. Our volunteer coordinators will be on site to help you get settled, answer questions, and make sure you have everything you need. We encourage neighbourhood groups and friends to sign up together so you can work as a team.
To apply, visit the Careers section online or pick up a paper form at the service counter in Wrenford City Hall. The deadline to submit your application is October 10. Applicants must be at least 16 years old, or 14 to 15 with a signed parent or guardian consent form. Volunteers who complete at least one four-hour shift will receive a free event t-shirt and a volunteer lunch voucher.
“Volunteers are the heart of Harvest on Mercer,” says Mayor Danielle Okafor-Price. “We rely on local residents to help us create a safe, welcoming, and fun day for everyone. Thank you for giving your time to our community.”
