The City of Wrenford is pleased to announce that applications for the 2025 Neighbourhood Beautification Program are now open. This annual grant initiative helps property owners, local businesses, and community groups make their neighbourhoods more attractive, functional, and welcoming.
The program offers two funding tiers. Residential and small business owners can apply for grants of up to $3,000 to cover the cost of exterior repairs, landscaping, and yard improvements. Community groups and non-profits can apply for up to $12,000 for larger placemaking projects, such as community gardens, park enhancements, and greening initiatives. Applicants must provide a 50 per cent match for their project, either in cash or through in-kind donations and volunteer labour.
"Investing in our shared spaces makes a real difference in how people experience their neighbourhoods," says Isabel Moreno, Economic Development Manager. "Whether it is a fresh coat of paint on your storefront or a new community garden, these projects bring people together and strengthen our local character."
Eligible applicants include homeowners, landlords, small businesses, and registered non-profit organizations located within the City of Wrenford. Projects must be completed by December 31, 2025, and all work must comply with relevant By-laws and zoning requirements. The City will review applications on a first-come, first-served basis until funds are exhausted.
Residents and business owners can find the full application guidelines, eligibility checklists, and project examples on the Beautification and greening grants page. Applications can be submitted online through the City's eLicence Portal or by mail to the Economic Development office at City Hall.
