About the program
The City of Wrenford wants to help you keep our streets, parks and building fronts looking their best. The Wrenford Neighbourhood Beautification Program gives you money back if you invest in exterior upgrades or community greening projects. You can use the grant to fix up a shop front, plant a community garden, add a mural, or improve a local park.
Residential and small business grants
If you own a property in a designated heritage or commercial area, you can apply for help with exterior work. This covers painting, repairing masonry, fixing porches, or planting front-yard gardens that match the streetscape.
- You will get back 50 per cent of your approved costs.
- The maximum you can receive is $3,000 per property.
- Corner lots can receive up to $4,500 because they have two frontages.
- You must provide the other half of the cost yourself. Cash or volunteer labour counts.
Work must start after your application is approved and must be finished by October 31, 2026. We will send a staff member to inspect the finished work before we send your cheque.
Community placemaking and greening grants
Neighbourhood associations, business improvement areas and local non-profits can apply for larger grants to improve shared spaces. This money can pay for public planters, rain gardens, street art, bench installations, or wayfinding signs.
- Grants cover up to 50 per cent of eligible project costs.
- The maximum award is $12,000 per project.
- Projects must benefit the general public and stay in place for at least three years.
- Applicants must cover the remaining 50 per cent through fundraising, membership dues or other grants.
Submitted proposals are reviewed by the Economic Development team and the Parks and Trails committee. We look for projects that bring people together, improve safety, or add more trees and green space to the neighbourhood.
