City announces 2025 outdoor pool opening dates

The City of Wrenford has announced the opening dates for its outdoor water amenities for the 2025 season. Residents can plan their summer days around the splash pad opening on Saturday, June 14, and the outdoor pool opening on Saturday, June 28.

Splash pads at Wildrye Park and Kingfisher Outdoor Pool will open at 11:00 a.m. daily. The outdoor pool at Kingfisher Outdoor Pool opens at 11:00 a.m. on June 28, weather permitting. All water amenities run until 7:00 p.m. during the summer season. The City uses this time to test water quality, balance chemicals, and complete routine maintenance before welcoming the public.

“Outdoor pools and splash pads are a great way for families to cool off and enjoy the summer,” said Caroline Dubé, Recreation Programs Coordinator. “We encourage residents to check the drop-in schedule online before visiting to plan their swim.”

Kingfisher Outdoor Pool offers lane swimming for adults, leisure swims for families, and designated times for preschoolers and teens. Swimming lessons for all ages will also resume that weekend. Splash pads provide a safe, shallow area for younger children to play with water jets and interactive features.

Please note that all outdoor water amenities may close or adjust their hours due to severe weather, poor air quality, or equipment issues. The City will post updates through service alerts and on local social media channels. If you are planning a visit, check the facility page for the most current hours and program details.

The outdoor pool season runs from late June to Labour Day. Once the season ends, the City will drain the pools and begin winterizing the facilities. Residents can find the full schedule for all recreation programs, including summer day camps and fitness classes, on the Facilities section of the website.
