The Parks & Trails team is recruiting volunteers to plant and maintain the formal gardens at Centennial Gardens. The work day will take place at 5 Victoria Street on Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Residents of all ages and skill levels are welcome. You will help with weeding, spreading mulch, planting annuals and perennials, and refreshing garden beds near the cenotaph. The City will provide all tools, gloves, and refreshments. Volunteers will also get a behind-the-scenes look at how the grounds are maintained throughout the year.
Sign up in advance through the City’s volunteer registration portal. Spaces are limited to 30 people, so register early. Wear sturdy shoes and dress for the weather. If you need help with registration, contact the Parks & Trails team at [email protected].
“Community volunteers are the heartbeat of Centennial Gardens,” says Fiona Gallagher, GM Community Services. “Their work helps keep our downtown space beautiful and welcoming for everyone.”
Bring your family and neighbours for a morning of outdoor work and community pride. For more information about park maintenance and volunteer opportunities, visit the Parks & Trails page.
