Get your hands dirty and help make downtown bloom. The City of Wrenford Parks & Trails team is hosting a spring planting volunteer day at Centennial Gardens (5 Victoria Street, Wrenford, ON N4Q 1A5) on Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Residents of all ages are welcome to join us for a morning of planting spring bulbs, weeding flower beds, refreshing mulch, and painting directional signs. The City will provide all necessary tools, gloves, and supplies. Light refreshments will be available for volunteers.
To make sure we have enough materials and supervision, please register online by Friday, April 25, 2025. You can sign up through the Volunteer opportunities page or call the Parks & Trails desk at 519-555-0140. Wear closed-toe shoes, long pants, and weather-appropriate clothing. If you have any accessibility needs, please let us know when you register so we can make accommodations.
"Community volunteers are the heart of Centennial Gardens," says Maya Chen-Watson, Parks Planner. "When residents come out to help us plant and maintain these spaces, it makes the downtown area a more welcoming place for everyone."
Volunteering is a wonderful way to connect with your neighbours and take pride in our city. We also encourage all eligible residents to get involved in the democratic process by checking their voter registration and reviewing the Election resources ahead of the upcoming municipal elections on October 26, 2026.
