Canada Day in the Park returns to Centennial Gardens on Sunday, July 1, 2025. The City of Wrenford is proud to host a full day of free, family-friendly activities for residents and visitors alike. The event runs from 10:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., with fireworks scheduled for 10:30 p.m. if weather permits.
You can enjoy live music from local bands, interactive children's workshops, and a showcase of Wrenford's community groups. Food trucks and craft vendors will line the paths around the formal gardens. The City will also present its annual awards to local volunteers and community builders during the midday programme.
To keep the area safe and accessible, Mercer Street will be closed to vehicles between Victoria and Water Streets from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. You should expect delays and use alternate routes. On-street parking remains available on adjacent roads, and Wrenford Transit Route 5 stops just steps from the main entrance. For more information on transit schedules, visit our Transit page.
"We want this to be a day that brings our whole community together," said Mayor Danielle Okafor-Price. "From the kids' activities to the evening fireworks, we have planned a celebration that honours our history and looks forward to our shared future."
As the summer season gets underway, the City also wants to remind residents about the upcoming municipal election on October 26, 2026. The registration deadline is October 10, 2026. If you are a candidate or planning to advertise, please review the rules and sign bylaws. You can find all the necessary forms and guidelines on our Elections page. Please remember that election signs are not permitted on City property, including Centennial Gardens. You must follow the Election sign bylaws and place them on your own property only.
