Effective immediately, the boil water advisory for residents on Tamsin Street has been lifted. The City of Wrenford issued the advisory on June 10 after a water main break disrupted service, and crews have now finished the repairs and confirmed the water is safe.
If you have been using your tap water over the past few days, you do not need to do anything else. The water you have already used has effectively flushed out older water in your plumbing. If you were away and did not use your water during the advisory, we recommend you run the cold water tap for a few minutes before using it for drinking or cooking. This simple step brings fresh water into your pipes and ensures the best taste and clarity.
"We want to thank Tamsin Street residents for their patience while we fixed this issue," said Patrick Nguyen, Water Operations Manager. "Our crews worked through the night to restore full pressure and clean water to the neighbourhood as quickly as possible."
During the advisory, residents were asked to bring all tap water to a rolling boil for one minute before drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, or preparing ice. Once the advisory is lifted, the public water system is completely safe. However, a brief flush of the taps is always recommended if the water has been sitting in the pipes for an extended period.
