The City of Wrenford is issuing a boil water advisory for addresses along Tamsin Street starting today, June 10, 2025, after a water main break disrupted service in the downtown core. Crews responded to the break early this morning and have completed the initial repairs. Water quality tests are required before the advisory can be lifted.
Residents in the affected area must bring all water used for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, and making ice to a rolling boil for at least one minute before use. Doorknockers have been placed on affected doors to remind you of this step. The advisory will remain in place for 24 to 48 hours, or until laboratory tests confirm the water meets provincial safety standards.
If you cannot boil water, use bottled water or boil water for at least one minute. You may use treated water for washing dishes and bathing. Once the advisory is lifted, run your cold tap for a few minutes until it runs clear.
The City is deploying water tankers and providing water jugs for affected residents. You can also pick up containers at Wrenford City Hall or the Civic Operations Centre. If you need water delivered to your door because you have mobility challenges, call 311 or 519-555-0100 to request assistance.
"We know how essential clean water is to your daily routine. Our crews are working around the clock to restore full pressure and complete the required testing so we can lift this advisory as quickly and safely as possible," said Patrick Nguyen, Water Operations Manager.
