Ambrel Lake Park playground equipment installed

As of June 1, 2025, the City has finished installing new playground equipment at Ambrel Lake Park, located at 1350 Ambrel Lake Road, Wrenford, ON N4Q 5D5, giving families a fresh, inclusive space to play near the boardwalk and picnic shelters.

The new installation includes a wheelchair-accessible play structure, rubber safety surfacing, and shaded seating areas. The project was designed to meet the City’s accessibility standards, ensuring that children of all abilities can enjoy the park alongside their families and neighbours.

“Accessible playgrounds create spaces where everyone can play together safely,” said Maya Chen-Watson, Parks Planner with the Recreation & Culture department. “We worked closely with residents during the planning phase to make sure the new equipment matched what the community wanted most.”

Site preparation and groundwork were completed earlier this spring. Crews from the Roads & Winter Maintenance section helped grade the access paths, improve surface drainage, and ensure the surrounding roads and parking areas could safely handle the increased foot traffic. If you notice any cracks, potholes, or drainage issues near the park after using it, please use the online reporting tool so crews can send a maintenance team to take a look.

The park is open during daylight hours. Families are asked to supervise children at all times and to keep the play area clear of food and drinks to prevent pests. If you see the equipment damaged or notice anything that looks unsafe, please report it immediately through the City’s 311 service line or online.
